I've always been someone who's tried to prioritize health in my lifestyle. Over the past couple of months, I've been focusing on increasing my daily fruit and vegetable intake. One of the simplest ways I discovered to achieve this was by making smoothies at home. Usually, I pair them with a light snack during lunchtime. My usual routine involves throwing a handful of fresh spinach into the blender along with some water and blending until it's smooth.

Once that's done, I add half a banana and whichever fruits are in season that I think would taste great together—peaches and raspberries, oranges and strawberries, pineapple and papaya—it’s all delicious! I’ve had a few misses here and there, but most of my creations turn out fantastic! A quick tip: the riper the fruit, the sweeter your smoothie will be!

As you can see, Max usually likes to join me in the kitchen.

Recently, I came across a recipe for a PB&J Smoothie and it sounded absolutely mouthwatering. So, I decided to give it a try. To my delight, it turned out amazing! Even if you're not typically a fan of smoothies, I think you'll enjoy this one—if you don't mind PB&J flavors, that is. Max always asks if it's "peanut butter and jelly," and when I confirm, he eagerly requests a share. It's super cute… until he ends up drinking three-quarters of it himself!

PB&J Smoothie

PB&J Smoothie Recipe
1 cup Fresh Spinach
2 tablespoons Water
1 Banana
1 cup Frozen Mixed Berries
2 tablespoons Peanut Butter
A handful of Ice Cubes

I’ve made this smoothie several times this week, and it’s quickly become a favorite. It’s packed with nutrients, and the combination of flavors is just perfect. Now, whenever I start blending, Max immediately perks up and asks if it’s PB&J. If I say yes, he grins ear-to-ear and insists on sharing. It’s adorable, even if he does drink most of it!

Despite his antics, I still consider it pretty cute. Sharing moments like these with him make even the smallest things feel special.

Since starting this new smoothie habit, I've noticed a difference in how I feel throughout the day. It's energizing, and Max seems to enjoy being part of the process. We both look forward to our PB&J smoothie sessions now. It’s a win-win situation!
