Change the habit of using materials to improve the efficiency of raising pigs
![]()
For a long time, pigs were fed with pig waste, but I never expected that this practice could change so quickly. Today, it's better to minimize the use of commercial feed and instead use water from your own home to replace part of the feed. However, directly using muddy or dirty water for raising pigs is now strictly prohibited in both urban and rural areas. Not only is it unhygienic, but it also negatively impacts the living environment. More importantly, pork from pigs raised in such conditions can be unsafe, potentially causing diseases in both humans and animals. Therefore, it's essential to properly handle this muddy water.
Traditionally, people used to cook the muddy water to make it safe, but this method is labor-intensive, consumes a lot of fuel, and the results are often unstable and hard to store. A much better solution is to use microorganisms to ferment the mud into safe feed. The best choice for this process is the Ginseng Glutinous Water Feed Starter.
The fermentation process is simple and effective. Take 40–50% of the muddy water and mix it with a gold treasure bait water fermenting agent. The formula includes wheat bran, rice bran, and muddy water mixed in a ratio of 30%:30%:40%. If there's a lot of water, it's better to drain some before mixing. Add the baby's water-fed starter at a rate of 2 per 1000 parts, and mix thoroughly to ensure the moisture content is around 65%. To check if the moisture is right, grab a handful of the mixture – it should form a ball without dripping water, and when dropped, it should scatter easily.
Once ready, transfer the mixture into a fermentation tank (small or large, even a sink can work) and seal it for 3–5 days. After each batch, cover it again, and it can be stored for over six months without losing quality. When feeding pigs, depending on their size, mix 20–60% of the fermented feed with boiled and disinfected water once a month. Also, deworm the pigs once a month to keep them healthy. This method not only saves costs but also improves the quality of the feed and the health of the animals.
