Asparagus field planting season

In the Yangtze River basin and southern regions, spring sowing can typically be carried out between March and May, or alternatively from September to October. In North China and Northwest China, spring sowing is usually done from April to May. However, if temperatures are low during this time, it's advisable to use mulching film to protect the seeds and promote better germination. For autumn sowing, it's essential to ensure that the seedlings have at least two months of growth before being transplanted, which helps them survive the winter more effectively. In subtropical areas such as Fujian, Guangdong, and southern Guangxi, sowing should be avoided during the hottest months of July and August. Additionally, in December and February, when temperatures drop significantly, it's not ideal for seed germination or early seedling growth. However, in Daejeon (assuming a reference to a similar region), live cultivation can be conducted from October to November. This period benefits from relatively mild winter temperatures, often staying above 5°C, which prevents seedlings from freezing or turning yellow. Moreover, weed activity is minimal during this time, making it an efficient window for planting. As temperatures rise in the following spring, the autumn-planted seedlings tend to grow quickly and vigorously.
