Hi there! I hope your week has been going well. It feels like I've been juggling a million things lately—writing, parenting, and trying to keep my sanity intact. You know how it goes: one moment you're sitting down to write, and the next thing you know, someone's asking for snacks or homework help, or you realize it's time to start dinner. Parenthood is definitely a balancing act, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Speaking of balancing acts, we’ve had some big news around here. We’ll be moving next month since the rental property we’re in is being sold. It’s been a whirlwind preparing the house for viewings—it feels like we’re living in a showroom now, with everything perfectly placed and tidy for random visitors. I can’t wait to settle into a new space, though. There’s something exciting about a fresh start, especially when it comes to decorating. I’m already dreaming of painting walls and rearranging furniture.
On a brighter note, I wanted to share a few things that have brought me joy recently despite the chaos:
1 // This little guy right here—our baby boy Skylar is such a ray of sunshine. He’s six months old now, and his giggles make my heart melt. I snapped this picture the other day because he looked so content, and I thought it’d brighten up your day too. Trust me, it beats showing you the disaster zone that is my desk right now!
2 // Speaking of positivity, I came across this story the other day about turning hurtful words into kindness. It really made me think about how we can all choose to respond differently when faced with negativity. If only everyone could adopt that mindset, imagine the difference it would make in the world.
3 // Have you heard of "Hashtag" by Rupi Kaur? My family and I stumbled upon it during a road trip recently, and ever since then, my dad and I have been exchanging funny hashtag messages. It’s become our little inside joke, and it always brings a smile to my face.
4 // As for the move, I’m trying to focus on the positives. A new bedroom means more natural light, which is something we’ve lacked in our current space. Can’t wait to pick out some fresh paint colors to make the room feel even cozier.
5 // Oh, and don’t forget about the giveaways we’ve lined up for you all. Stay tuned—I promise they’ll be worth it!
What about you? What’s been bringing you joy lately? Life may get busy, but there’s always something to appreciate if you take the time to look.
Sending you love and good vibes,
xo
