There’s something magical about the way memories tend to pile up when life gets busy—like they’re waiting patiently in some hidden corner of your mind, just itching to be shared. For weeks now, I’ve stared at this blank canvas of a screen, feeling the weight of fleeting moments slipping through my fingers. Pool parties under the blazing sun, quiet nights wrapped in blankets with my family, or even those random snacks eaten in bed—it all feels so vivid, so alive. Each moment felt like life’s way of nudging me to stop and savor it, but somehow, I kept pushing it aside. Living those moments became more important than writing about them, and that’s okay. Life isn’t always about documenting every second; sometimes it’s just about soaking it all in.

Today, though, I finally found a rare sliver of time. The little one is out on a “date” with her dad, and the baby is snoozing peacefully. It’s a moment I don’t want to waste.

One thing I absolutely adore about summer is the lazy Saturdays. You wake up, stretched out like a cat on the couch, sunlight streaming in through the windows. Eventually, we peel ourselves off the cushions and head downtown to the bustling farmer’s market. We’ll grab fresh doughnuts for breakfast, take turns choosing the juiciest strawberries and crispest cucumbers, and let the live jazz band set the pace for our stroll. There’s a rule we follow: we can’t leave until we’ve had perfectly grilled corn on the cob, eaten like a giant popsicle with butter dripping down our fingers. It’s messy, indulgent, and pure bliss.

Last Saturday, however, wasn’t exactly “lazy.” With errands to run, deadlines looming, and the chaos of life demanding attention, we barely had time for our usual routine. But we still made it to the market, albeit briefly. It wasn’t the same as our leisurely trips, but it was enough to remind us why we love it so much.

Writing this has made me realize how easy it is to get caught up in the whirlwind of everyday life. I often forget to pause and reflect, to cherish the small things before they slip away. So, today, I’m making a conscious effort to embrace these quiet moments, even if they’re few and far between. Because life isn’t just about the big milestones—it’s about the little joys that happen along the way.

As I sit here typing, I’m reminded of a quote: “The days are long, but the years are short.” And honestly, that hits harder than ever right now. So, whether it’s the sun streaming through the window or the laughter echoing from another room, I want to hold onto these moments, even if only for a little while.

That’s all for today. Until next time, stay present, stay curious, and keep finding joy in the little things.
