Broiler chicken 3 methods
Feed chickens with high-protein live feeds like quail and earthworms, and it's recommended to release broilers 10 to 15 days in advance. The cost of raw materials used for breeding is only 5% to 25% of conventional feed, making it an effective method to boost chicken productivity. Here’s a detailed guide on how to implement these methods:
1. **Mixed Breeding Method**
Combine fresh cow dung, weeds, and other organic waste into a paste. Create a pile that is 1 meter high, 1.5 meters wide, and 3 meters long. Cover the top and sides with diluted mud, and place a layer of grass on top to protect it from direct sunlight. After 7 to 15 days, the pile will be ready for worm cultivation.
2. **Wheat Bran Breeding Method**
Pile two heaps of wheat bran in a corner of the yard. Mix them with grass mud (a combination of crushed grass and thin clay), and let the mixture sit for a few days. Once ready, allow chickens to graze on it. After they finish eating, collect the remaining material and pile it again, mixing with grass and mud to encourage worm growth.
3. **Pig Manure Fermentation Method**
Dry 500 kg of pig manure until it reaches 70% dryness. Add 20% fertilizer mud and 3% wheat bran or rice bran, then mix thoroughly. Stack the mixture and cover it with plastic film for 7 days. Dig a pit 50 cm deep, spread the fermented material 30-40 cm thick, and cover it with grass, straw, or sacks to maintain moisture. After about 20 days, you'll have a rich source of maggots, insects, and cockroaches suitable for feeding your chickens.
These methods not only reduce feed costs but also promote sustainable and eco-friendly poultry farming. By using locally available organic materials, farmers can improve their income while maintaining healthy and productive flocks. This approach is especially beneficial for small-scale farmers looking to maximize efficiency without heavy investment.
