The tires must not have cracks, the steel rims should be undamaged, and all bolts should be tightened securely. The front toe beam should meet specifications to prevent steering wobble. It’s also important to check that the tire pressure is within standard limits to avoid damage from overinflation or underinflation.
Fourth, the steering system. The steering wheel should have the correct free play, operate smoothly, and the horizontal and vertical tie rods should not be bent or loose. The connection points must be secure. For the Jiangsu-504 model, the steering hydraulic cylinder rod and front wheel nuts must be properly tightened. The pin clearance should be checked to ensure it is not excessive, which could affect steering responsiveness.
Fifth, the braking system. Since mechanical brakes are commonly used on medium-sized tractors and may have been inactive for nearly a year, components such as brake pressure plates, steel balls, return springs, and brake discs might rust or seize. Regular checks are necessary, and if the braking performance is poor, the system should be removed and serviced. The brake pedal free travel should be adjusted to 60–80 mm, ensuring quick response and reliable locking mechanisms. Both left and right wheels should provide even braking force for safe operation.
Sixth, the lighting system. Due to potential issues with the towed lights, it's important to inspect and repair frequently used components like turn signals, headlights, and horn systems to ensure they function correctly and comply with safety standards.
Seventh, the body and auxiliary equipment. Inspect the tractor's frame, doors, and any attached equipment for damage or wear. Ensure that all parts are securely fastened and in good working order to maintain overall functionality and safety.
