The configuration of buildings in cattle farms should be easy to manage, be conducive to production, and be easy to prevent epidemics. At the same time, they must be unified in planning and reasonable in layout, and be neat, compact, economical and practical.
Cowshed. The climate in the north and south of China differs greatly from one east to the west. The cowsheds in the three provinces of Northeast China, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, etc. are mainly designed to prevent cold, while the south of the Yangtze River is dominated by heatstroke prevention. The form of the cowshed depends on the size of the feeding and the feeding method. The construction of the barn should be convenient for feeding and management, and it is convenient for lighting. It is easy to prevent heat in summer and cold in winter, and is convenient for epidemic prevention. When building multiple cow buildings, the long axis parallel configuration should be adopted. When there are more than 4 cowsheds, they can be arranged side by side in two rows, aligned one above the other and separated by more than 10 meters.
Feed bank. The construction site should be selected in a more moderate position from each cowshed, and where the location is slightly higher, it should be dry and ventilated, which will facilitate the transportation of the finished product to each cowshed.
Hayshed and grass bank. As far as possible in the downwind area, at least 50 meters away from the surrounding premises, built separately, should prevent scatter from affecting the environment of the cowshed, but also to achieve the purpose of fire safety.
Silage or silo. The principle of construction selection is the same as the feed store. The location is moderate, the terrain is high, and sewage such as excrement and urine is prevented from entering the leaching pollution. At the same time, it is necessary to consider transportation convenience and reduce labor intensity.
Veterinary room and sick cowshed. Should be set in the cattle farm under the limelight, and a relatively remote corner, easy to isolate, reduce the spread of air and water pollution.
In a hydroponic system, plants are placed in nutrient-enriched water. Mediums such as gravels, sand or vermiculite can also be used. Thus plants which are placed in the water absorb the nutrients very easly. When the nutrients from the water starts finishing , water is recycled or additional nutrients are added.
