Goldview I Nucleic Acid Dyes - Principles and Uses of EB Substitutes

GoldView (GV) is a new type of nucleic acid dye that can replace ethidium bromide (EB). Its sensitivity is similar to that of EB. It can be used in exactly the same way. Add 5μl GoldView to 100ml agarose gel solution. Double-stranded DNA exhibits green fluorescence under UV-transmitted light and can also be used to stain RNA. Since GoldView is not found to be carcinogenic and has comparable sensitivity to EB, it will likely be gradually replaced by EB.
Overview
GoldView is a new type of nucleic acid dye that can replace ethidium bromide (EB). When agarose gel electrophoresis is used to detect DNA, GoldView can produce a strong fluorescent signal when combined with nucleic acid. Its sensitivity is comparable to that of EB, and its method of use is completely complete. the same. Double-stranded DNA exhibits green fluorescence under UV-transmitted light and can also be used to stain RNA.
The mutagenicity results were negative by Ames test, mouse bone marrow polychromatic erythrocyte micronucleus test, and mouse testicular spermatocyte chromosomal aberration test; ethidium bromide (EB) was a strong carcinogen. So using Goldview instead of EB is a wise choice.
Instructions
1. Melt 100ml agarose gel solution (concentration 0.8% to 2%) in a microwave oven.
2. Add 5 μl of GoldView and shake gently to avoid air bubbles.
3. Cool down until not hot, and wait until the agarose gel is completely solidified.
4. The electrophoresis is completed under UV light. If you use a digital camera to take pictures, turn off the camera's flash and put it in the automatic file. If you use a gel imaging system to take pictures, adjust the aperture, exposure time, and select the appropriate filter to get clear image and low background. Photo.
Precautions
1. The thickness of the glue should not exceed 0.5cm. The thickness of the glue will affect the sensitivity of the test.
2. Repeated melting of the agarose gel added to GoldView may have an effect on the sensitivity of nucleic acid detection, but it is not obvious.
3. When recovering DNA fragments by gel electrophoresis, it is recommended to use GoldView staining to cut DNA bands under natural light to avoid damage to the target DNA caused by UV and EB, which can significantly improve the downstream operations of molecular biology such as cloning, transformation and transcription. effectiveness.
4. Although GoldView is not found to be carcinogenic, it may cause irritation to the skin and eyes. Wear gloves when handling.

Micro Laser Distance Sensor

New product of U85 micro laser distance sensors use highly focused class 2 laser to detect objects or measure distances, and can return a measured value via varieties intface( serial, usb, rs232, rs485, bluetooth etc.). The electronic distance sensor is a very small Laser Distance Sensor, but high resolution up to 1mm and long distance measuring sensor - teachable measuring range of up to 30m. Extremely accurate distance sensing sensors, errors down to ± 1mm. And the mini sensors and measurements support continuous measurement function, great for compact solutions(eg: robots) with the smallest Laser Distance Sensor of the world!
