Focusing on food safety events in 2011 from "Pesticide Residue Salts"

On January 31, 2012, the People’s Court of Qiquan District, Puyang Municipality, Anhui Province opened a public trial session on the illegal production and sale of “pesticide waste residue salt” cases. The case involved a total of 14,000 tons of “pesticide waste residue salt” and flowed into the 12 provinces and municipal salt industries in the country. In the market, some “pesticide waste residue salt” flows into the dining table as salt.

The black-hearted traders were taking risks again and again before the inducement, and the food safety issue once again reached the people. Looking back at 2011, which has just passed, we still have a lingering fear.

Big Event One: Shuanghui Lean Meat Event On March 15, 2011, CCTV exposed Shuanghui to use “lean meat” pork in food production. The exposure of Jiyuan Shuanghui Foods Co., Ltd. is a subordinate company of Henan Shuanghui Group, which mainly focuses on the slaughter and processing of live pigs. Big Event 3: Old Tang Ke Hot Pot Oil Event On July 26, 2011, CCTV’s “Consumer Claims” section reported that the chain hotpot restaurant operating in Chengdu “Old Tangke” was involved in the production and sale of hot pot oil. On July 27 and 28, the Chengdu Food Safety Committee called a food and drug administration and public security departments to form a joint investigation team to conduct surprise inspections on the “old Tang Ke” hot pot restaurant.



Major Event 4: Ditching Edible Oil Incidents On September 13, 2011, the Ministry of Public Security successfully cracked down on a major case of using cooking oil to produce and sell cooking oil. A total of 14 “provincial oil” criminal networks involving 14 provinces were destroyed, 6 production and sales “black factories” and “black dens” were destroyed, and 32 major suspects such as Liu Liguo and Yuan Yi were captured.




Big Event 5: Frozen Dumplings and Bacteria Doors On October 19, 2011, the Beijing Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce checked out the “Shen Nian” brand San Xian Dumplings produced by “Zhengzhou Si Nian Food Co., Ltd.” containing Staphylococcus aureus which can cause pneumonia.
