1 Epidemiology
The disease occurs frequently in winter and spring, and is often distributed or endemic. Pigs and latently infected pigs have a long period of time and are the main source of infection. It is also the main reason for contamination of pig farms.
2 clinical symptoms
It is characterized by fever, encephalomyelitis, ganglionitis, dyspnea, reproductive failure, growth arrest, and high mortality. The incubation period is 3 to 6 days.
In the early stage of the disease, the pigs were mainly nervous disorders. The sick pigs had nervous nerves, straight eyes, and vertical ears behind the ears. They were excited and excited by sound stimulation. Some of the hind limbs were raised as "goose-steps," and the latter were characterized by paralysis. Prominent are intermittent convulsions, muscle spasm contractions, supine head spasm, opisthotonus, epileptic seizures, blind walking and turning or staying motionless after remission.
Piglets often have sudden onset, body temperature above 41°C, redness of the eyelids, edema of the eyelids and mouth, large amounts of foam and saliva in the mouth, vomiting or diarrhea (yellow dung), and yellow vomit. There are almost miliary purple spots on the abdomen. They are insane, trembling, and thin. The mortality rate of piglets with neurological symptoms is up to 100%. 4 Control measures
1. In view of this disease in adult pigs mostly hidden infection, so the introduction of pigs must be introduced from the no-disease field, do a good job of isolation observation, to prove that when no disease can be fed in groups.
2. The farm's hygiene measures should be implemented in a practical manner. In addition to sanitization and disinfection (optionally using bacteria and drugs to destroy and "fast-cleaning"), regular rodent extermination is an important measure to prevent the disease.
3. Vaccination is an important measure to prevent and treat pseudorabies. The normal pigs on the affected pig farm were injected intramuscularly with a 1x dose of the vaccine. The infected pigs were intramuscularly injected with a 2x dose of the vaccine.
