How to use the bait feeder correctly
In recent years, with the rapid growth of China's feed industry, the use of full-cost pellet feed in aquaculture has become increasingly popular. To save feed and reduce labor, fish farmers have turned to fish feeders, which have become essential equipment for high-density fish farming. These machines not only improve efficiency but also help manage feeding schedules more effectively.
Automatic feeders are widely appreciated by fishermen because they save time and reduce physical effort. However, using a feeding machine requires proper techniques. If done incorrectly, it can lead to waste and inefficiency, making the investment less worthwhile.
First, when installing a feeder, choose a suitable location that faces an open area of the pond. This ensures a wide feeding zone and allows fish to access food easily. If two ponds share one feeder, the base should be adjustable to accommodate different distances.
Second, it's recommended to feed manually once a week and record how much the fish consume each time. Based on this data, you can fill the feeder accordingly and follow a set schedule. Avoid changing the amount randomly—determine the feeding quantity once a week for better consistency.
Third, avoid feeding on cloudy days. While using the feeder, always observe the fish’s eating behavior. Every half month, check the bottom of the feeding platform for leftover food to prevent pollution. Do not start the machine with a single charge, and avoid feeding at random times. Even if the fish aren't eating, the machine should not keep dispensing food, as this leads to waste and poor water quality.
When choosing a fish feeder, it's best to purchase from reputable manufacturers who offer training and support. Ensure the product has passed technical inspections and is both innovative and easy to maintain. When buying, consider the following: The feeder should have a durable design, with a material box capacity of over 50 kg, steel plates at least 1.2 mm thick, and galvanized sheets no thinner than 0.7 mm. The power should be between 40 and 120 watts, with low noise levels. A semi-automatic model should allow for adjustable timing and fixed feeding intervals, while a fully automatic one should use a microcomputer with a liquid crystal clock, capable of programming 1–9 feedings per day with flexible scheduling.
