The reorganized Provincial Food and Drug Administration is a provincial government agency directly under the departmental level. Its main duties include: implementation of national and provincial food (including alcohol, food additives, health food) safety, and medicines (including Chinese medicine and ethnic medicine) , medical devices, cosmetics supervision and management of the guidelines and policies and laws and regulations, promote the establishment of food safety enterprises to implement the main responsibility mechanism, establish a direct reporting system of food and drug major information and organize the implementation and supervision and inspection to prevent regional and systematic food and drug safety risks; Responsible for the administrative licensing and supervision of foods, formulate food safety inspection and control mechanisms, food safety inspection annual plans, major rectification and management programs and organize implementation, establish a unified food safety information disclosure system, and announce major food safety information; take charge of drug and medical care The administrative licensing and supervision of equipment and cosmetics, establishment of monitoring systems for adverse drug reactions and adverse events in medical devices, monitoring and disposal, and organization of the implementation of the qualification system for licensed pharmacists.

Among them, the responsibilities assigned include: responsibilities of the food safety supervision of the production chain, the responsibility for compulsory certification of medical devices, and the production licenses and mandatory inspections of cosmetics are assigned to the Provincial Food and Drug Administration; The duties of food safety supervision and administration undertaken by the Administration for Industry and Commerce shall be assigned to the Provincial Food and Drug Administration; the food safety supervision duties of the food and beverage industry and canteens, etc. undertaken by the original provincial health department shall be assigned to the Provincial Food and Drug Administration; Responsibility for organizing investigation and handling of major food safety accidents and issuing comprehensive information on major food safety by the former Provincial Economic and Trade Commission (Provincial Food Safety Office) shall be assigned to the Provincial Food and Drug Administration.

Decentralized responsibilities include submitting the food and drug technology certification work to the affiliated institutions, and assigning the administrative pharmacist's continuing education management responsibilities to the Provincial Pharmacists Association.

Strengthened responsibilities include establishing effective mechanisms for producers and operators to become the first person responsible for food and drug safety, and establishing mechanisms to prevent regional and systematic food and drug safety risks.
