How to raise a good duck in winter

1. Feed off. In winter, when the weather is cold, the proportion of energy feed must be increased. At the same time, feed formulas should be adjusted according to the different egg production rates of ducks. In addition, a good amount of vitamins should be incorporated in the feed to meet the needs of ducks for various vitamins. Ducks were fed 3 days of cod liver oil every 15 days, 1 ml per duck per day.

2. Antifreeze off. The egg production of ducks is closely related to temperature; when the temperature is below 0°C, the egg production of ducks will drop significantly. In order to maintain a high egg production rate in laying ducks in winter, it is advisable that the temperature in the shed be not less than 6°C. Therefore, additional heating equipment should be installed in the shed. In addition, the bedding in the shed should be changed frequently, so ducks should not be allowed to spend winter in damp, cold places.

3. Retreat off. In winter, laying ducks should be released outside the sheds every day according to the weather, allowing them to feed, swim and play freely. However, they must choose leeches for grazing in order to prevent the duck feathers from being exposed by the wind. At the same time, when the ducklings move into the water, they must be allowed to swim in the dry land for half an hour before they are allowed to go into the water to prevent the ducks from cramping due to the cool water.

4. Fill light off. Due to the short day and long winter days, for the ducks that are arranged at the peak of their egg production in the winter, they should pay attention to artificial light; generally, a 60-watt light bulb can be hung around every 30 square meters within 2 meters of the ground in the shed. And add a lampshade.
