Eat watercress to prevent breast cancer

According to the British "Daily Telegraph" report, scientists at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom have found that eating 80 grams of watercress each day - which is equivalent to the amount of a vegetable - can cause anti-cancer molecules in the blood to proliferate within hours. Studies have shown that chemicals extracted from crushed watercress can inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells.

Watercress has recently been called "superfood" by scientists and has many health benefits. Professor Graham Parker of the University of Southampton Cancer Research Center published the study in the British Journal of Nutrition. The study included 4 breast cancer patients. During the course of the study, volunteers first had to fast and then eat a watercress. The researchers found that after 6 hours of intake of watercress, the level of 4E-binding protein in the blood decreased, and this protein was involved in the growth of cancer cells.

Another laboratory study also showed that the consumption of watercress and other isothiocyanate-rich vegetables such as Broccoli, cabbage, will reduce the risk of cancer. Next, researchers will increase the number of samples to confirm their research results.
