What matters should be paid attention to when inseminating sows

(1) Use a needle to pierce a small hole in the bottom of the insemination bottle, stroke the sow's breast or vulva, press the back of the sow, and make the uterus shrink to produce negative pressure, and inhale the semen.

(2) Control the infusion bottle's level to adjust the insemination time. The insemination time should be 3 to 5 minutes. After the infusion, prevent the air from entering the sow's reproductive tract and fold up the small part of the back end of the vas deferens. Place it in the infusion bottle to allow it to stay in the genital tract for 3 to 5 minutes, allowing the vas deferens to slip slowly. The time taken for the first insemination process should not be less than 5 minutes. Insemination is too rapid and the semen may have already reversed. It is best not to exceed 15 minutes. If it exceeds 15 minutes, there is a problem with the sperm delivery process.

(3) Sows should avoid nearing boars or smelling boars for at least one hour before insemination, so as to avoid adverse effects on insemination and abortion after sows are highly excited and nervous.

(4) The rate of insemination should be appropriate. Excessive insemination may return semen a few minutes or ten minutes after insemination.

(5) Any stress factors before and after insemination will have adverse effects on fertilization. Don't beat the sow's buttocks firmly after insemination. After sowing, sow the sow's buttocks so that the sow's buttocks muscles contract and temporarily avoid semen backflow. But after being frightened, the body will release epinephrine and resist the effects of reproductive hormones such as oxytocin. It will weaken the uterine contraction wave, affecting the operation of the semen to the deep part of the uterus and adversely affect the fertilization of the egg.

(6) If semen flow is large, insemination should be repeated. A large amount of semen backflow does not ensure the total amount of semen entering the uterus. Therefore, the insemination process should be reviewed so that the sow can rest after two hours of rest.

(7) After the insemination, the sow should be avoided within 10 minutes. It is best to avoid the sow drinking too cold water. Sows lying down will increase their abdominal pressure and cause semen backflow. If sows should lie down, they should be driven away, but they should not be treated harshly to avoid stress. Drinking cold water may stimulate gastrointestinal and uterine contractions. And causing semen backflow.
