Thai fresh-cut technology realizes the shelf life of durian extended to 15 days

As we all know, durian is a problem in the transportation process. Recently, a batch of freshly processed durian flesh flew directly to China from the Thai orchard. This durian has adopted the technique of fresh-cut durian, which is covered with a layer of harmless organic cellulose film on the surface of fresh-cut durian, and then sent directly by air. Through this new technology, the shelf life of durian has also increased, and the shelf life has been extended to 15 days.

According to the Thai Consulate in Shanghai, a group of freshly processed durian flesh flew directly from China to the Chinese orchard. It is reported that these durians are from Thailand Novana Co., Ltd., using fresh-cut durian technology, waiting for the best ripening time of durian, peeling the meat after special treatment, covering the surface of fresh-cut durian without The harmful organic cellulose film is then sent straight by air.

The fresh-cut durian technology avoids the picking of durians and does not completely complete the process of starch-converting sugar, thus ensuring the highest sweetness of durian. Zhuang Nijia, Commercial Consul of the Commercial Office of the Consulate General of Thailand in Shanghai, said, "This technology solves the problem of exporting immature durians and inferior fruits." Through this new technology, the shelf life of durian is also increased, and the shelf life is extended to 15 days; usually, the shelf life of fresh-cut durian from other sources is only 3 days. In addition, the durian skin is heavier, and after the peeling treatment, it is packaged by air, which also saves logistics costs to a certain extent. Fresh-cut durians offer new options for consumers and distributors.

In addition, the Thai side revealed that this year Thailand will increase its efforts to export durian to China. Last year, due to production restrictions, Thailand's durian exports to China did not fully meet domestic consumer demand; and from the perspective of orchards, production has increased, and exports are also expected to increase accordingly. The chairman of the Durian Community Planting Association of Thailand in Chanthaburi said that this year's durian production in Thailand is expected to increase by 10%-20% compared with last year. However, if natural disasters occur later, the output will be reduced accordingly, and the specific forecast will not be accurately judged until May. Last year, the production of durian in Thailand was around 595,000 tons, and the output of his institution was around 2,000 tons. The chairman of the Durian Community Planting Association of Chanthaburi also said that this year Thailand will strictly control unpicked picking. He is very optimistic about the export of durian to China.

It is reported that Thai durian is also exported to South Korea and Japan, but mainly organic durian.
