Repair of upper plane of engine block water channel hole

On the cylinder block of some types of engines, there are several small channel holes next to the cylinder liner, which are close to the cylinder liner. Due to the long-term corrosion and impact of the cooling water, the edges of the small channel holes often form defects, and the cylinder pad can no longer play a sealing role. Was washed out. We used a simple method to fix it and it worked well.
(1) Remove the cylinder head bolts next to the pistons, cylinder liners, and waterway holes of the repaired part, and fix the hand bench drill on the upper plane of the cylinder block with a suitable screw, and use the appropriate ones according to the repaired position. The drill bit drilled through the channel hole. The upper 3-5mm depth of the hole is enlarged, the diameter of the hole can be determined according to the degree of corrosion, and then the self-made trowel is used to flatten the bottom of the hole.
(2) Make a mold from a car, place it on a flat iron plate, melt the scrap aluminum piston and pour it into the mold, remove it when it is cold, and then machine the aluminum insert according to the size of the processed water hole. After machining, slowly insert the insert into the hole of the water channel with a hammer. Prior to this process, the removed cylinder liner (without a water stop ring) should be installed to avoid damaging the substrate during impact. After setting in, tap the insert around with a hammer to make it tight and rough the insert plane with tweezers.
(3) Place a new cylinder pad on the plane of the body to determine the position of the small channel hole. Remove the cylinder pad, and move the center of the hole that draws the line to the outer edge of the body by 1.5-2.0 mm. As the center of the new channel hole, drill with a suitable drill bit. The new waterway hole is moved outwards in order to increase the distance between the waterway hole and the edge of the concave surface of the cylinder liner to expand the sealing plane.
(4) The insert plane is finely machined with a fine file and oil stone. This plane allows higher than the body plane 0.06 ~ 0.08mm. Finally, clean the waterways, install cylinder liners, piston rod assemblies, and other components.
