Raise five big rabbits to improve efficiency

1. Raise purebred rabbits instead of local hybrids. Although local hybrid rabbits are inexpensive and easy to obtain, they have a longer growth period and lower feed conversion efficiency. Raising purebred rabbits is 40 to 60% more cost-effective in the long run. Purebred rabbits grow faster, have shorter feeding cycles, and utilize feed more efficiently. By 90 days of age, a purebred rabbit can weigh up to 2.5 kilograms, while a hybrid rabbit may only reach 1.5 kilograms at the same age. This makes purebreds a more profitable choice for commercial rabbit farming. 2. Use full-price compound feed instead of single feeds. Based on the breed and growth stage of the rabbits, it's important to choose the right nutritional standards. Switching from single feeds to balanced compound feed ensures that all essential nutrients are provided, supporting better health, growth, and productivity. 3. Replace traditional feeding methods with scientific management practices. Understand and adapt to the natural behavior of rabbits to create a better living environment. In winter, keep them in well-insulated shelters to maintain warmth. During summer, provide shade and cooling measures to prevent heat stress, which helps improve overall health and performance. 4. Change from powdered feed to pelleted feed. Pelleted feed offers numerous benefits over powders, including better palatability, higher feed efficiency, easier handling, and easier storage. It also reduces labor costs and waste, making it a more practical option for large-scale rabbit farming. 5. Shift from reactive treatment to proactive disease prevention. Many rabbit farmers fall into the trap of spending more on curing diseases than on prevention. However, rabbits are small animals with weak immune systems, and once they get sick, recovery rates are often low. Therefore, prevention should be the priority. Implementing regular disinfection, vaccination programs, and good hygiene practices can significantly reduce the risk of disease outbreaks. Always follow the principle of "prevention first, with treatment as a secondary measure" to ensure a healthy and productive rabbit farm.
