Generator regulator simple adjustment of two steps

1. Adjustment of closed voltage

With a dry cell and battery (12v), ammeter connected in series, connected to the battery terminal of the regulator. Start the engine and increase the speed gradually. Observe the current meter pointer on the tractor when the closure contacts are closed. If the current meter pointer swings to the “+” direction, indicating that the closing voltage is high, the spring tension should be reduced; if the current meter pointer swings to the “-” direction, it indicates that the closing voltage is low and the spring tension should be increased. This is repeated until the current meter pointer does not swing when the closure contacts are closed, indicating that the closing voltage is appropriate.

2, adjust the pressure adjustment

With two dry batteries and batteries, ammeter in series, connected to the battery terminal of the regulator. Start the engine and gradually increase the speed. Observe the pointer of the ammeter while the regulator is working. If the current meter pointer swings to the “+” direction, it means that the voltage regulation value is high, and the spring tension should be reduced; if the current meter pointer swings to the “-” direction, it means that the voltage regulation value is low and the spring tension should be increased. This is repeated until the current meter pointer does not oscillate until the regulator is activated. This means that the regulator value is appropriate.

The principle of this adjustment method is: the dry battery is connected in series with the battery, there is a certain potential, and the generator sends a certain voltage, and when the two are not equal, the current will be generated. The potential of the former is higher than that of the latter, then the ammeter pointer is in the "-" direction, and vice versa is in the "+" direction. The ammeter pointer does not swing until both potentials are approximately equal.
